| Dear Friend, GMO/Toxin Free USA will soon be forced to close our doors after 13 years of public education and advocacy. In the uncertain and stressful times we live in, our donations have dropped to an unsustainable level. Our spring fundraising appeals have only brought in a small fraction of what we need to survive. As our operating costs continue to spiral, we are no longer able to pay for the systems and tools we need to continue our work. Our only full-time paid staff member and our 2 part-timers will be forced to look for other jobs. Our email list of approximately 50,000 subscribers is primarily composed of people like you, who appreciate our work but have not yet donated this spring. If each of you donated just $3, we would have the funds needed to make it through the year. As a full-time volunteer Executive Director and donor, I can tell you that every penny you donate will be put to good use. Our annual operating budget is just $150,000, a drop in the bucket when compared to other nonprofits that operate in a similar space with budgets of $1-3 million. If everyone on our list donates just $3, we will be able to continue to provide you with information you need to make informed choices and with advocacy tools to make your voice heard. We understand that times may be tough for you. It’s not easy to make ends meet. If you find value in our Connecting-the-Dots newsletters, our advocacy actions, consumer protection lawsuits and public education… a single donation equal to the cost of a small cup of Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks coffee will help sustain GMO/Toxin Free USA through the year. | |
